Homemade croissants are flaky and buttery. Both sweet and savory croissants taste amazingly good with tea or coffee.  Croissants can be easily customized by stuffing them with fun fillings like chocolate, Nutella, cheese, cinnamon sugar, lemon curd, fruit jam, peanut butter etc. Croissants are quick and easy to bake if you know the secret to making the perfect dough. Making dough requires time and it is most definitely a labor of love. You can still enjoy warm homemade croissant if you don’t have time to make dough from scratch – get ready store bought dough and bake it.

Method

Step 1

Roll dough into a rectangle with help of some flour to avoid it from sticking. Now cut this big rectangle into triangles. (you don’t need to roll dough if using store-bought)

Step 2

Make a notch/cut in the middle of the wide side of each triangle dough piece. Add your choice of filling on the dough. Now fold and roll up very gently making sure the ends are sealed at the bottom as shown in the picture

Step 3

Place rolled croissant on a baking tray and bake at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for about 15-20 minutes, until golden brown.

Step 4

Brush warm croissant with butter and serve them with coffee or tea

Notes

  • You can add your choice of filling to make it sweet or savory croissant
  • Don’t worry about some butter or cheese filling leaking out of croissants when you bake them.
